Happy Halloween!

It was nice to have Halloween on a Saturday. There was plenty of time in the day to go to sports class, carve our pumpkins, and take a little rest before the big night. Mem and Papa came over for dinner and joined us for a little trick-or-treating. The kids got more candy than they could possibly eat. Kate loved going door to door and was a little upset to go home. It was nice to see the neighbors. We ended up handing out all of our candy and calling it a night by 8:00. Turning the calendar this morning, we look forward to the holiday season ahead. Mike is already dreaming about turkey!

A Lot Of Firsts

Jack has lost his two front teeth!

Sorry folks for taking so long to update the blog. We do have a lot of firsts to catch you up on. Jack started first grade and is loving it. We couldn't be happier with his teacher, Mrs. Savinon. We also lucked out to have all of the boys in the same class for the first time! Jack is now a Cub Scout. At the first pack meeting, there was a bike rodeo. It was all the motivation Jack needed to learn how to ride his bike without training wheels. Finally, Kate got her first haircut. Her wild hair needed a little trim from a professional. We are glad her curls are still intact. They suit her well.

Another School Year Finished

Another school year finished. I was sad to say goodbye to my class this year and Jack was sad to say goodbye to his Kindergarten teacher. But, we were thrilled to have 8 weeks of summer ahead of us. The kindergarten students had an end of the year performance that was really cute and an end of the year luau with family and classmates. We were also very proud of Jack who received two special awards for the trimester: Perfect Attendance and Academic Achievement. He is ready for first grade.

Jack also joined a summer indoor soccer team on Tuesdays . He is excited to be on a team and his skills are improving each week.

On Father's Day we went out to breakfast with the family to IHOP. Then we decided to go to the San Diego County Fair. The family enjoyed a few fun rides, some good food, and saw some animals and exhibts while there. We even ran into Aunt Kimmy and Uncle Gabe! It was a great way to start summer.

Almost Summer

Wow it's almost summer...Yahoo! Kate and Jack are growing so quickly. Jack is almost done with Kindergarten. He is looking forward to playing indoor soccer and going to camp this summer. Kate is starting to take a few steps on her own. She is getting a little braver everyday. She went to the cardiologist in May. The doctor is pleased with how things are developing. She has at least 5 teeth coming in, so some days she is not such a happy camper. Mike and I are just plain busy! But,we are trying to take everyone's advice to enjoy our kids while they are young.
At the end of May we went up to Kim's house to celebrate Tyler's birthday. We enjoyed a few bbqs over Memorial Day weekend and Mike and I went to see a real movie!!!

During the last week of May Jack performed in a play with his church group. He and I also had Open House Night at school. Here are some of his art projects.

Now that June has arrived, things have started winding down. The family took a quick trip to the zoo to see the new Elephant Odyssey. It was worth the trip. Jack especially enjoyed the tar pit. Kate just liked going for a ride in her stroller. With only two weeks left before vacation, we are on the count down to a few weeks off. We'll be back with more pictures in the summer.

Spring Break 2009

Baby Kate Turns 1

We started our Spring Break this year with a family camping trip down at the Silver Strand. We rented a trailer and had a great time at the beach with our friends. Our baby girl also turned 1! Can you believe it? Little Miss Kate turned 1 on the eighth. We celebrated with the family on Easter Sunday at our house. We enjoyed seeing everyone and the kids enjoyed their Easter Egg hunt. Spring Break has quickly flown by, but that only means a few more weeks until summer. Yahoo!

Kate's Gone Mobile!

Kate is 10 months old. Hard to believe that she'll be one in two months. This last week was a big one for her. She had a check up with the pediatrician and all is looking great. She learned how to crawl! Man she's quick and into everything. She is working hard at pulling herself up and loves to stand at her Incrediblock! She has four teeth and would much rather feed herself than have someone feed her with a spoon. She has also learned how to clap and loves it when people clap for her. What a ham!

Yes, it's blurry because she's too darn fast!

Happy Birthday Jack

Our big guy turned six on January 30th. As soon as the calendar hit January, you could feel his excitement. We went out for pizza on the real day and had a cosmic bowling party with family and friends on Saturday. He had a great time.
He also lost his two bottom teeth last week and he looks like he grew another inch. He certainly looks like a 6 year old now!
