"Bow Therapy"

It's been a long week and it's nice to start the weekend with good news and a story to bring a smile to everybody. Baby Kate is being looked after by a wonderful staff of nurses at Children's. After having her chest closed up yesterday one of her nurses gave her a quick clean up and even washed her hair. After washing Kate's hair she even took the time to put in a pretty little bow which she calls "bow therapy". In the nurses words, "All girls feel better after getting their hair done!"

Baby Kate after her "bow therapy".
Today Cheryl and Mike were back down at the hospital while Jack was in school. Kate continues to do well and today the doctor was able to remove many of the tubes from her face and stomach. The more things they can take off just shows how great Kate is doing. Jack will spend Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa and if all is going well he should get to see his sister for the first time on Sunday! Check back on Sunday and hopefully we will have some pictures of the big event.

I can only imagine how wonderful Kate felt to get her hair done up so beautifully. We are so glad to hear that she is doing well and getting disconnected from the tubes and wires one by one. She is so precious and absolutely adorable. I cannot wait to hear what Jack thinks of his baby sister.
We continue to think of you and wish you the best in the coming weeks.

Dear Cheryl and Mike,
I was thrilled to get your website..thanks to Kathy at school. Kate is really gorgeous! I had a cousin who had the same heart condition when she was born way back in the 60's and she came out of it with flying colors. Thank heavens for medical advancements. I can't believe that Jack is so grown up --what a handsome little guy. Say hello to Mary for me. I will keep up on your news everyday.
Love, Judy Oechel
The name Catherine Mare is very elegant sounding.
